Private 5G Network Deployment Status by Region in South Korea

As of the end of May 2026, a total of 111 private 5G network sites have been deployed in South Korea. Of these, 95 sites were deployed by private 5G operators under spectrum assignments, while 16 sites were self-deployed by enterprises under spectrum designations. Although the number of spectrum assignment-based deployments continues to increase, the growth of spectrum designation-based deployments has largely stalled.

From a regional perspective, private 5G deployments are heavily concentrated in Seoul and the Seoul Metropolitan Area, which account for 63 sites, representing 56.8% of all deployments nationwide. In Chungnam, Chungbuk, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam, approximately 8 to 10 sites have been deployed in each province. In contrast, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Gangwon have only 3, 3, and 5 sites, respectively, indicating a significantly lower level of private 5G deployment compared with other regions.

This report on the implementation status of private 5G networks in South Korea is quite enlightening! I like how you've divided down regional developments; it truly emphasizes the differing rates of adoption in different locations. It made me consider the consequences for sectors that rely significantly on these networks—particularly in terms of innovation and efficiency.

Interesting overview of the private 5G landscape in street view. The strong concentration around Seoul shows that enterprise demand and infrastructure readiness are still major drivers. It will be interesting to see whether regional incentives and industry-specific use cases can accelerate adoption outside the capital area.

Great analysis of the regional private 5G deployment trends in South Korea. The strong concentration in the Seoul metropolitan area raises an important question about how quickly industrial and public-sector use cases can accelerate adoption in provinces with fewer deployments. It will be interesting to see whether future policy incentives help narrow this regional gap. @ wheelie life

It's interesting to see how concentrated private 5G adoption remains around Seoul despite several years of deployment. I wonder whether the slower growth in other regions is primarily due to cost, fnf lack of demand, or challenges in finding practical industrial use cases.

Thanks for putting this together. It's interesting to see how private 5G deployment varies across different regions. These kinds of updates make it much easier to understand where adoption is accelerating and where there's still room for growth. fnaf 3
