4G → 5G Evolution: D-RAN → C-RAN → NFV, SDN → Network Slicing

Beautifully thought architecture. Looking forward to work on this tech as soon as possible.

Hoang (Google) via LinkedIn 2016-01-21 10:04:13

Looks interesting.

No doubt that Network Slicing will be a reality in the coming years... it´s the natural evolution path for Telcos to capture new IoT businesses

Olufemi (Phase3 Telecom) via LinkedIn 2016-01-25 12:06:11

Nice one, looks very intresting.

Cyril (IBM France) via LinkedIn 2016-01-25 16:49:11

Great slide !

Scott (Verizon Wireless) via LinkedIn 2016-02-01 11:39:21

Thanks for sharing. Should be interesting to see how equipment vendors implement 4G/5G interoperability.

Akhilesh (Cisco) via LinkedIn 2016-02-11 14:50:07

This is great slide

netmanias, many thanks for your Great, helpfull and didactic contribution to telecomunications.

satyasunil 2016-02-22 17:33:29

Many thanks for your efforts and guidence provided to all tech guys...great job

Good job! You may want consider the following modification for network slicing. I do not thik there will be separate radio AU for each service. Also the front haul is likely to be sereral baseband streams multiplexed using fibre optics. The cloud unit again is not multiple function but a single function that allocates resources and routs the baseband stream to the appropiate "slice" for

processing.

Kumar 2016-10-02 05:36:53

Nice approach...

I have question here,

Is it AU/CU will take the responisibility to identify the service ..as Voice/DATA/IoT and handle further processing accordingly ?

kamal 2016-12-21 23:43:08

Don't agree Wilson that the F.O to be the fronthaul, it will be IP based and that was tackled above under "save fronthaul cost" keping the latency critical functions at AU

Vinit Shandilya 2017-01-13 21:13:42

What is the functional difference between RU and AU?

suman sarkar 2017-02-22 22:52:20

what is CO ?what is denotes ?
