영국의 Private 5G 구축 현황 (2021 - 2025) |

영국 OFCOM은 2019년 12월에 3.8-4.2GHz(400MHz, upper n77 band)와 24.25-26.5GHz(2.25GHz)를 사설 5G망용으로 개방했다 (영국 OFCOM의 사설 5G 주파수 안내 및 신청사이트).
영국에서는 이 산업용/기업용/사설 5G 주파수를 Shared Access Licenses (SAL)라고 부르며 우리나라의 이음 5G/5G특화망, 일본의 Local 5G, 독일의 Local 5G, 미국의 CBRS 주파수에 해당한다.
이는, 기업이 이통사 공중 5G망과 상관없이 독립적으로 자체 사설 5G망을 구축하여 기업에 필요한 디지털 전환 응용 (AI, Robots, IoT 등)을 신속하게 구현할 수 있게 하기 위함이다. |

3.8-4.2GHz (indoor/outdoor, low power/high power license)는 실내외에서 모두 사용가능하며, 24.25-26.5GHz (indoor low power license)는 실내에서만 사용가능하다.
