B-Comp
An S-VLAN component within a Backbone Edge Bridge that relays frames between Customer Backbone Ports (CBPs) and Provider Network Ports. CBP (I-tagged )와PNP (S-tagged)갂의Frame Switching기능을함.
I-Comp
S-VLAN component로서, PIP (I-tagged)와CIP (Untagged/S-tagged)갂의Frame Switching기능을함
Customer Instance Port (CIP)
A Backbone Edge Bridge Port that receives and transmits frames for a single customer, allowing each frame received from the customer equipment to be discarded or assigned (through relay to a Provider Instance Port) to an I-SID on the basis of the received S-VID.
Virtual Instance Port (VIP)
A Bridge Port, internal to the operation of a Backbone Edge Bridge, that provides for the support of one or more customer S-VLANs by a single instance of virtual media identified by an I-SID. I-SID당하나의VIP가가상적으로PIP 상에생성됨.
Provider Instance Port (PIP)
A Backbone Edge Bridge Port that can transmit or receive frames from or for multiple customers, adding or removing I-TAGs.
PIP는물리포트이고VIP는그물리포트상에설정된논리포트인것과같은관계로규정되어있음. (B-comp와I-comp가별개의device로나누어진경우에는실제로각PIP가별개의물리포트임)
Customer Backbone Port (CBP)
A Backbone Edge Bridge Port that can receive and transmit I-tagged framesfor multiple customers, and translate or assign B-MAC addresses, B-VIDs, and I-SIDs, on the basis of the received I-SID.
Provider Network Port (PNP)
An S-VLAN component Port on a Provider Bridge that can transmit and receive frames for multiple customers

Relationship between a PIP and VIPs
.B-Comp는S-VLAN Comp이지만, Customer Backbone Port라는특별한포트를가짐
.CBP는I-tagged Frame을송,수싞함
.Ingress I-tagged frame은CBP의PVID값에의해B-VID가결정됨
.CBP에설정된I-SID List (table)에없는I-SID를가진frame은filtering됨
.Provider Network Port는이름그대로일반적인Provider Bridge와연결됨
.I-Comp는S-VLAN Comp이지만, Provider Instance Port라는특별한포트를가짐
.Provider Instance Port는I-tagged frame을송,수싞함
.I-SID별로unique한VIP가PIP 내에(상에) 만들어짐(Logical port .Physical Port 관계)
.VIP가frame을보내면PIP가I-tag를붙여서내보냄
.PIP가I-tagged frame을받으면I-tag를제거한후, 해당I-SID값을가지는VIP에게frame을전달

.Transparent LAN Service (TLS) provided by PBBN
.가입자의Untagged/C-tagged Frame을PBBN 내에서transparent하게전달함
.각Customer의CE들을연결하는P-to-P or MP-to-MP EVC마다Service Instance (I-SID)가할당됨

.각CIP당하나의Port-based SI를제공
.각CIP당하나의Unique한S-VID를할당(CIP별PVID값에의해S-VID 구별)
.각S-VID별I-SID를할당(이때I-SID별로VIP가생성)
.S-VID와I-SID가1:1 mapping됨(따라서, CIP와VIP가1:1 pair관계가됨)
.PIP의egress로Frame이나갈때,
.S-tag는삭제되고I-tag만붙어서CBP에보내짐
.B-SA는egress PIP의backbone MAC주소를사용하고, (모든SI 공통)
.B-DA는“Backbone Service Instance Group Address” (Default) 또는PIP가Learn한B-MAC주소(모든SI 공통)
.CBP에서I-tagged Frame을수싞하면, (모든SI 공통)
.CBP는, 수싞된Frame이I-tagged Frame이아니면Discard
.CBP별PVID값에의해B-VID가결정됨
.B-DA가Default Multicast 주소이고, “Service Instance Table”에“default B-MAC주소”(Static Unicast or Multicast)가설정되어있으면, B-DA를Replace함

Service Access Protection: Protection Scheme of Class III SI
.In operation, a class III interface uses only the highest priority operating LAN for traffic.
.When Providing a Class III S-tagged interface,
.Multiple Customer Instance Ports, each on a different BEB, are used to create a single S-tagged interface.
.No BPDUs from the customer network or from the provider network are delivered over the interfaces links
.The the Layer2 Gateway Protocolis run on the customer network which determines which S-VLANs are active on which LANs of the class III interface …
.The customer network informs the PBBN which S-VLANs are active on which links using MVRP on the access LANs.
.When Providing a Class III I-tagged interface,
