Fraud Prevention a case for Big Data and Analytics (BDA)

Online fraud has such a big monetary value that it has become an organized crime and the fight against these frauds has become an industry in itself where many governmental and private organizations are working day and night to safeguard the common public, however as the scammers are using new tools and techniques every day so the prevention system also has to upgrade to the new and emerging defensive strategies.

How IoT may change our World

In simple words IoT is the interconnection of different type of devices (Any device) with humans and with each other, for examples your watch may alert your health care provider when your sugar level is rising beyond some specific value consequently your vital signs are sent to your family doctor and based on his response insulin is injected to your body to lower the sugar level, this all process may occur without any human intervention as your family doctor may be an AI (Artificial Intelligence) and not a human doctor.

To Ping or not to Ping?

As I had mentioned PING as a tool in my blog so some friends asked that how much is Ping accurate; and some readers with advance knowledge even suggested that it is not wise to use Ping to find issues in the network as you may not know that how the network will be treating PING requests.

I will try to shed some light on Ping and its usage in the telecom network operations and troubleshooting

What is Latency; A User’s Perspective

Latency is quite a new word for a common user and for some of the experienced users as well. We generally know about the goodness of a communication link with its speed in Mbps only.
If we want to have a good connection at our home or office where we have number of devices then we would like to go with a connection of a high Mbps value like 30, 50 or 100Mbps as per our anticipated usage based on our daily experience.
The only test carried out on the day of installation is a speed test, which shows a downlink close to the rate of our acquired connection rate.

5G Network - a user's perspective

User satisfaction is not easy to understand when it comes to network technologies because of underlying limits of different RATs (Radio Access Technologies) and the capabilities of the user device and too many other factors, below is a small table to introduce you to different RATs and user device capabilities.

What is a Mobile Network composed of

A generic Telecom network is composed of different components supplied by a long list of vendors, these networks are organized in an interwoven topology based on the needs of inter-connectivity, Network Security and resilience.

However in order to understand the Telecom Network it can be segregated in a number of Building Blocks each with distinct capabilities and offering different and distinct services to other blocks, also these blocks have distinct interfaces to connect to other blocks with detailed specifications written and agreed through internationally accepted and agreed governing bodies like ITU, IEEE, etc.
