SK Telecom today announced that its UO Smart Beam Laser has been named a 2016 CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the Home Video/Audio Components and Accessories category.
The CES Innovation Awards is an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in consumer technology products. Since 1976, this prestigious program has honored today’s ground breaking technology. The awards span 27 product categories and cover the most influential and innovative fields in the industry, from smart home to wearable technologies. UO Smart Beam Laser is the world's first LCOS-based laser pico projector. The 2.2 inch cube-shaped projector achieved Class 1 rating for eye safety and offers high portability. It boasts a chic, refined look as it is ambitiously designed to win the hearts of the young and stylish customers who perceive smart electronic devices as fashionable accessories.
It projects up to 100 inch HD image and comes with a ‘focus-free’ feature to deliver greater customer experience. It can be connected – either wirelessly or via cable - to diverse smart devices, including smartphones, laptops and tablet computers. It supports HDMI and MHL to enable wired connection; and Miracast and DLNA for wireless connection. Users no longer need to use a mount or stand since the projector is designed work without one - it projects light upwards (100 percent offset).
UO Smart Beam comes with a built-in battery and speaker: The rechargeable Li-Po 4200 mAh battery runs for 120 minutes on a full charge when used in wireless connection mode, which is powerful enough for users to watch a full movie; and the 1-watt speaker provides a clear, rich sound. Users can also use other types of sound/audio equipment by connecting it to their video source (i.e. tablet, smartphone, laptop, etc.).
Moreover, UO Smart Beam Laser also won the Bronze Award at the 2015 HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation & Technology Products.

Meanwhile, SK Telecom’s subsidiary IRIVER has won two 2016 CES Innovation Awards: IRIVER’s premium audio AK380 and AK T1 were named CES Innovation Honorees in the Portable Media Player and Accessories category and High Performance Home Audio/Video category, respectively.
