4. Withdrawal of frequency in 3,400 – 3,700 MHz band

Services that utilize frequency in the 3,400 – 3,700 MHz band, like mobile broadcasting relay and fixed satellite service, are either expired or discontinued. So, the frequency is to be withdrawn by the end of 2017, and will be re-allocated for mobile communication use in the future.

5. Local distribution of frequency allocated by WRC-15

ITU WRC-15 recently finalized frequency allocations to help to meet changing needs of today, like growing mobile traffic demands, emerging IoT industry (e.g. unmanned aircrafts and self-driving car), and public safety and convenience. Details on how to distribute the allocated frequency in the nation were determined.   

A total of 4,409 MHz was allocated for mobile communication (91 MHz), satellite (3,618 MHz), aircraft (200 MHz), radio detection (500 MHz). Specific purposes of the frequency, including radar for automotive collision avoidance (4 GHz width in 77 – 81 GHz band), were also determined and will be reflected in the frequency allocation table of the nation.
